Join me as we pack for a 4 day trip to Mammoth Lakes. Do you find it hard to pack for a ski vacation? I do! Do you worry that you are going to be cold? I do! On top of everything the clothes tend to be extra bulky which makes it more difficult. Does this happen to you? Thankfully, Mammoth is pretty casual and I can get away with just bringing one pair of boots and the pair of pants I’m wearing and another pair to pack. So here is my packing list for the 4 day trip in Mammoth Lakes:

  • Underwear, bras and socks
  • PJ’s – 2 tops and 2 bottoms
  • 1 pant
  • 2 long sleeve tops
  • 2 sweaters
  • 1 boot
  • 2 scarves
  • 1 set of gloves
  • 2 beanies
  • 1 jacket

We booked a 3 bedroom cabin across from the village. With the skis and the snowboards, helmets, gloves, boots and heavy jackets, it’s nice to be able to each have our own room and spread out. From here on forward, no more driving, only walking. The village is super convenient, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shops, ski rentals, and the Village Gondola which takes you to Canyon Lodge.

I just checked the weather and it looks like the weather in Mammoth Lakes is going to be great this weekend. Highs will be in the low 50’s and at night into the lower 20’s ……… brrrrrrrrrr! This packing list should be perfect. If my black jacket is not warm enough, I can always wear my snowboarding jacket which is really warm.

There are a few restaurants near the village that are on my bucket list to visit. Petra’s Bistro & Wine Bar is always great. I’ve been there several times and the food is always good. I’m excited to go back. It is located at the Alpenhof Lodge just across from the Village Gondola. It’s a nicer restaurant and the wine list is good and drinks are delicious. They serve great cheese plates salads, seafood, steak and dessert.

For Petra’s night out, from my packing list, I will opt for my red top, white long sleeve, black pants, black beanie, boots, jacket and Burberry scarf.

For night two, I am excited to try a new restaurant called 53 Kitchen & Cocktails. Its looks like a very good spot with a fun vibe. Food is casual and they have live music and a cool bar. Perfect choice is to wear black on black. Simple, elegant and cool.

For night three, we will play it by ear and leave it up to the kids. Either way, I am prepared and here is my outfit for our 3rd night in Mammoth:

Do you have trouble packing for the mountains like I do? I feel like all you need to mix it up a bit are 2 cute scarves and 2 cute beanies. Just make sure all your items coordinate! Love this Jenny! I wish I would have seen this before our trip (we’re in Mammoth now). I almost had a nervous breakdown packing bc everything is so bulky and doesn’t fit.😂
